We started in 1960 as a family company and we still feel that way today, with the third generation of entrepreneurs running the company after more than twenty years of business on an industrial scale.
Maromed 1992 was established in 1992, and production was transferred to Tunisia. The heart of the company remains in the laboratory in San Lazzaro di Savena (Bo) together with everything that supports and validates production: product development, prototyping, raw material logistics, quality control.
In 2010 land was purchased in a new industrial zone on the outskirts of Tunis for the construction of a building larger than 4,000 sq.m, in line with the most stringent European safety standards. The following year, the Arab Spring stopped all work, which was transferred to a company in Northern Italy, but in 2013 the new site was already productive and passed all the audits required by many important customers.
Our work continues fascinating us, even after many years. This is also why we are well-known and well-appreciated, considered a synonym of optimal small leather goods and of punctuality. We think of ourselves as a team: the success of “our” product is truly the merit of all.
Customers know that we work in a climate of complete mutual respect for suppliers and collaborators, and for the agreements we have made. We operate in a frank and transparent manner, according to our innate idea of honesty that does not necessitate an explanation. We listen to our customers requests and try to accommodate them whenever possible by searching for the best solution for both parties.
A team created in the most authentic tradition of “made in Italy”
In almost thirty years of presence in Tunisia, Italian craftsmen have trained more than 300 Tunisian workers, working side by side. Every day the commitment and skills of everyone converge into a flow that is difficult to explain. We call it team spirit because otherwise we don't know how to define it.
